Farewell

I just received the news that my paternal grandmother passed away about 10pm EST. She had been in a nursing home for quite some time in failing health. I don't think she suffered much though she had been in and out of lucidity for a long time now. I'm sure she's having a grand time being reunited with my grandfather who passed away when my dad was 14. Farewell magrand until we meet again in heaven, I love you.

Major Bummer

I found out today that we (Epok, Inc.) are being right-sized and that 11 of my colleagues have lost their gainful employment. Of the 11, 5 are from our Bellevue, WA office, all of whom are friends as well as co-workers. On the upside, I'm going to get to work from home now which is what I have wanted to do for quite some time. I'm thankful I get to keep my job and believe that our company will succeed. If anyone who reads this has any job openings for programmers of the Java variety in the Seattle area please let me know.
