Farewell

I just received the news that my paternal grandmother passed away about 10pm EST. She had been in a nursing home for quite some time in failing health. I don't think she suffered much though she had been in and out of lucidity for a long time now. I'm sure she's having a grand time being reunited with my grandfather who passed away when my dad was 14. Farewell magrand until we meet again in heaven, I love you.

Too bad you didn't have time to visit her when you were in SC this past summer....

This is so sweet, I'm glad you don't have to remember her in the nursing home in a bed and not knowing who you are, it's nice to have your last memory be a good one. Sometimes when you see a person deteriorate like that, that is the only picture you can conjure up when thinking of them. She was an example of love, commitment and dedication that helped form who we are and will live on in generations to come. We love you grandma!
